Amsterdam, late summer of 2015: After several beers and watching smoke coming from the BBQ, sparks flew and it all came full circle with Kasper Stuart. The BBQ-icon from Antwerp completed our search for a concept that embodied honesty, simplicity and love for the product.
The second Bastard, we had found already a year earlier in Italy – Pizza Guru Guido Medeot had kindled a flame in us for his craftsmanship courtesy of his passion and self-built wood-fired oven Apecar.
The brewer, we never had to search for – he had virtually been put in our cradle. The family-owned brewery with one of the only fire-heated copper brew-caldrons left had from the outset been the cornerstone of everything that we have created. With a lot of love and patience, master brewer Hans Eder brews the highly decorated RASCHHOFER beers.
